Can I form
a Liechtenstein company online
Yes, within limits: since 1 March 2026 a Liechtenstein notary can notarise articles and resolutions by video, with eID.li via ebeurkundung.li (Notaries Act Art. 49a ff.). A single-member GmbH can also be formed online with an eID through the LLV portal. It still does not happen “in chat only”: the founders identify themselves, sign electronically and file, and the Office of Justice reviews on its own clock. Can everything be done on video?
Almost everything. Several founders can have the articles notarised by video with eID.li before a licensed Liechtenstein notary (ebeurkundung.li). Limits: the Office of Justice may require personal appearance (PGR Art. 963 para. 4a). A signature is certified remotely only together with an electronic deed (Notaries Act Art. 49e para. 3). Intake and payment run online, and since March 2026 notarisation can also run by video with eID.li. Review by the Office of Justice remains. That is a compliance feature, not a website bug.
